Cadysneaker created the Air Jordan 1 Mid Dia de los Muertos to honor the famous Mexican holiday, the Day of the Dead.Air Jordan 1 Mid “Dia de los Muertos” is a special colorway of Michael Jordan’s first signature shoe dedicated to the traditional Mexican holiday. The design utilizes color and graphic patterns to pay homage to Mexican customs.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid DOD Familia references the traditional flowers that grow all over Mexico.White leather appears on the perforated toe and the mid-panel. The shoe features a three-color palette of yellow, fuchsia, and white.Other details includes cracked Yellow leather collars and Swooshes with contrast stitching throughout and “Familia” printed on the lateral forefoot.the Spanish-word for “family” is inscribed on the lateral forefoot, and works in-tandem with not only the pair’s color palette, but also detailing to ostensibly nod to Mexican culture. On both sides of the shoe, there is the classic Nike Swoosh logo. The logo, however, is accentuated by textured stitching that gives these sneakers a unique look. On the toe, text reading “Para Mi”, or “For Me” in English, is printed in yellow. A white midsole and fuchsia outsole completes the design.
Nike’s signature Swoosh logo runs across both sides, while a classic Jordan Brand Jumpman logo is embroidered onto the tongue and a wings logo on the collar. Limited edition branding is also featured on the toe box here for a one-off look. The crackled swooshes and collar underlay mimic a fissured desert floor, while surrounding purplish overlays evoke a twilight. Golden labels on the mesh tongue borrow their design from traditional papel picado decorations; the left shoe’s sockliner features a floral graphic made from a slew of swooshes.
